HOW IT WORKS
Alma Duo is an in-office, aesthetics treatment that uses gold standard shock wave technology, focused low-intensity extracorporeal shock wave therapy (LI-ESWT), clinically validated to stimulate better blood flow and restore natural sexual performance. LI-ESWT was first introduced in the 1970s for lithotripsy and has since successfully addressed medical issues in orthopedics related to its anti-inflammatory properties and in cardiology related to the promotion of angiogenesis, and blood formation.
The focused LI-EWST technology, delivered by Alma Duo’s patented electrohydraulic applicator, consists of short pulses of approximately 0.5µs duration called “shocks” or near-instantaneous jumps to peak positive pressure combined with a longer duration of negative pressure. The peak pressure of the shock wave is almost 1000 times the peak pressure of the ultrasound.
